219382 – Utopia Hamilton Island, The Whitsundays
We stayed at Utopia with an extended family of 10 (two families of 4 plus the grandparents). All enjoyed themselves. Trent (on site property manager) and Isabella (booking manager) were very responsive and helpful at all times. The location is a little out of the main tourist drag of Hamilton Island, which was just wonderful. It’s slightly remote, very peaceful, yet literally 800m from the main island faculties. We highly rate the kitchen facilities (two of our number are gourmet cooks) and generally everything works well. The accommodation is divided into three separate areas, with the main suite and the eastern bungalow the standout, with the western bungalow a very very distant third place. If you need to use all three sections you will have to design some compensation for those that get the short (Western) straw. We don’t understand or agree with the earlier comments that ‘the pool is too cold’. For the warmest 6 months of the year, Utopia’s pool is simply divine. It’s the tropics: one is looking for ways to reduce temperature. The ocean is perhaps 29 degrees after all (a bit too hot). The coolness one feels when sliding into the Utopia pool water is a micro holiday highlight every time. Utopia works well in bad weather. It’s fine in cyclonic rain. The wind in the hoop pines and surf on the rocks below can get very very loud (or soothing depending on your perspective). Minor downside: We could not get the Internet to work. I am sure Utopia could have fixed this but we enjoyed the feeling of disconnection and did not ask for a fix. Overall we really enjoyed being at Utopia.
‘We had a wonderful holiday on Hi and the dinner at CoCa Chu was great…..the pick of the restaurants that we ate at. My daughter’s partner is a chef at a 2 hatted rest. and he cooked some amazing meals in the pizza oven. The family will no doubt have fond memories of my 70 th for a long time to come. Thank you for your help.’ Guest stayed April 2016

|We recently celebrated my husbands 50th birthday by staying at the fabulous Utopia property on Hamilton Island. From the minute we arrived we were blown away by the views and set out of the house which provides a great sized kitchen, living/longue area in the centre and unique private bungalows away from the main living area. The 4 couples that stayed at Utopia with us absolutely loved it! The views of the coral sea – from every room were amazing! We used the wood fire pizza oven and the kitchen for some stay at home meals as the place was just too good to leave. We had drinks on the middle deck next to the pool and the viewing deck below the house and contemplated how lucky we were to be at such a fantastic house and location. We would highly recommend Utopia to anyone wanting a large, unique, comfortable house with the most awesome views. It certainly lives up to its name! Make sure you do the Sunset cruise – fantastic value. We did it on the first night and it set the scene for the whole holiday.|

My husband Greg hall organised a surprise 50th for me at hamilton island. Thinking my daughter and himself would be the only ones. Well there were 9 of us in the end. Wow what a surprise . Utopia was just amazing. There was a huge kitchen/ family room, then everyone had there own little cottage off the main entry way. So we still had our time out from each other. Had a indoor pool, outdoor bath, which I had a tub in. Everyone had there own room basically . Views from every room. It was to die for. Highly recommend it to big groups, as u still have you down space but still together . The buggies are the best way to travel.. Haha the only way to get around hamilton island. So much to do and see. Give it a 10 out of 10. Utopia we will b back. Oh yeah white haven beach is a must.
