Fantasea offers transfers from the mainland at Shute Harbour (Arlie beach). This 30 minute direct service runs daily. Below is some information on getting to Shute Harbour from the mainland:

By Car: The 1100km drive north from Brisbane to Shute Harbour takes around 12 hours non-stop. Follow the Bruce Highway to Proserpine and then take the exit to Airlie Beach and Shute Harbour on the coast. You’ll find secure parking near the ferry jetty at Shute Harbour.

By Coach: if you are travelling to Hamilton Island from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns, coaches run to Airlie Beach then you catch a short local coach to Shute Harbour’s ferry jetty.

By Train: the Sunlander runs four times a week from Brisbane and Cairnes to Proserpine, with coach connections to Shute Harbour and the Hamilton Island Ferry.

Included in your accommodation at Utopia is one four-seater golf cart. Additional golf carts can be hired at a cost of $85 per day.

Also included in your stay are return airport transfers (pick up all parties and luggage) from Hamilton Island airport to the Utopia residence.

Included in your stay is access to the free island shuttle bus which run all over the island from 7am until 11pm daily.

There is a grocery shop on the island, but prices are higher than on the mainland. You may want to preorder your groceries from Coles Online. They deliver to the island daily from Monday to Friday. As per their terms, groceries arrive on the island at 10am and will be delivered directly to the residence between 10am and 2pm. It is recommended that you order food for the day after you arrive to avoid potential spoiling. Alternatively purchase perishables from the on island grocery store. Coles allow you to make bookings up to 2 weeks in advance and no later than 24 hours before delivery. The additional cost is $9.

If you are staying for an extended period you may wish to organize a mid-stay clean. This clean is at a cost of $45 per hour plus a $40 transfer fee. Utopia does provide basic cleaning items such as vacuum cleaner, broom, washing machine and dryer if you prefer to do your own.
