The first item on your to do list when staying on a tropical island should be to

» Golf
Hamilton Island Golf Club course is set on its very on island adjacent to Hamilton
Island. Dent Island was designed by five-time British Open winner Peter Thompson
and this par 71, 18-hole course has amazing views of the Whitsundays. The course
is suitable for players of all levels of skill. Included in your round of golf are
transfers from Hamilton Island to Dent Island. It is a fantastic way to spend at

» Walking and Hiking
Although most transport on Hamilton Island is via golf buggy, there are plenty of
fantastic walks and hikes if you are feeling energetic. There are over 20km of trails
that can take you up to Passage Peak where you can experience 360-degree views of
the Whitsundays. This is a memorable way to experience Australian native fauna and
flora. Hamilton Island also caters for those that want to combine a cocktail with
a stroll. Every evening from 4.30pm One Tree Hill has cocktails while the sunsets.
Indulge in a beverage while enjoying panoramic views of the Whitsunday passage and
neighbouring island. Truly spectacular.
On Water
» Sail
You can’t holiday on Hamilton Island without marveling at the newly built Hamilton
Island Yacht Club. Designed by the renowned Australian architect Walter Barda, this
sailboat inspired sculptural building is a celebration of marine lifestyle. Said
to reflect the soaring silhouettes of full sail, visitors are welcome to drink and
dine in the Coral Sea inspired facility. For more information on this iconic building

As Hamilton Island is the home of the Whitsundays, sailing is certainly a great
way to experience the Great Barrier Reef. You can organize a chartered trip or sail
your own vessel. Sailing is the best way to explore the Whitsunday’s 74 tranquil
islands.
» Snorkel, Scuba Dive, Swim
No trip to The Great Barrier Reef is complete without visiting Hardy Reef. A permanent
floating platform in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef that offers a full experience
for snorkeling and scuba diving.
Fantasea boats run charters out to the reef daily which include morning
tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Trips include full day boat ride to the Great Barrier
Reef, half day trips to Whitehaven Beach, or you can simply snorkel off Catseye
Beach. Other service providers include Snorkel Safari and H20 Sports. H2O Sportz

In Air
» Fly
For a more exclusive experience of the Great Barrier Reef you can hire a small aircraft
to get memorable views of the Whitsundays. Helicopter, fixed wing and seaplane flights
are available through various service providers to Whitehaven Beach, Heart Reef
and the Great Barrier Reef. You can also catch a flight to the mainland and explore
Shute Harbour, Airlie Beach, Mackay and Proserpine, just to name a few.

What could be more romantic that a wedding or vow renewal on Hamilton Island. Wedding
celebrations can be held at the Hamilton Island chapel, on Catseye beach, Whitehaven
beach or even at Utopia. There are many services on the island to cater for your
needs and there is a dedicated wedding business specializing in event management
and wedding holidays that are willing to manage every detail. You can read more

In addition to these activities there are many organized tours and activities. These
include but are not limited to day trips from Hamilton Island, other water sports,
